DH slow-cooked these beef ribs over apple wood chips for about 5 hours. He then basted them with his homemade barbecue sauce and cooked them a while longer. They were absolutely scrumptious!! N took a bite and said "Mmmmm, now THIS is how meat should taste!" LOL!
We also made fresh yeast rolls with a recipe we hadn't tried before. They turned out perfect! The recipe was in a Cuisine at Home magazine, which is a great magazine if you like to cook! I don't think we've ever been disappointed by any recipe we've tried.
To round out the meal, we had broccoli, baked beans (cooked with a jar of salsa. Everyone said it tasted great!), DH's grilled potatoes and onions (he chops up potatoes and onions, seasons with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Then he makes little packets of aluminum foil and grills until the potatoes are tender.), and a very sweet watermelon (which you can see L enjoying below.) It was a wonderful meal!
I didn't get any of the paperwork or office cleaning done after all. Instead I took a nap from 11 - 2 and then hung out by the pool. Maybe tomorrow!
